The Association of Cyprus Banks in cooperation with the Junior Achievement Cyprus a non-profit organization – is pursuing an educational program for a three-year period (2016-2018).
The program was launched in five primary schools across Cyprus during February 2016. The program aims at familiarizing 12-year old students with money management concepts, such as income, expenses and savings; thus, enabling them to better understand the role of money in their lives and explore their job skills and the types of professions that interest them.
The program titled ‘More than Money’ is sponsored by member banks of the Association and volunteer employees from member-banks joined as mentors/educators of the program at the primary schools. The 3-year program was approved by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
The Association expects that ‘More than Money’ will form the basis for a broader cooperation framework and will gradually proceed with the implementation of financial educational programs at all levels of primary and higher education.
