Code of Conduct between Banks and Small and Medium Size Enterprises (SMEs)

The Code of Conduct between Banks and SMEs fosters good working relations between the two parties and enhances mutual understanding and trust between credit institutions and SMEs. The Code outlines a set of principles to ensure a beneficial and long term business relationship through transparent procedures. In this sense, banks provide accurate and reliable information to the SMEs regarding business accounts, card products and services, granting of loans and overdraft facilities, letters of credit and letters of guarantee. This Code also provides recommendations for quick and cost-effective dispute resolution processes within the credit institutions.  The Code of Conduct for SMEs was adopted by the members of the Association in September 2005.
